In 2019, the KCC also approved Invenergy Transmission’s acquisition of the project.

In March 2023, Grain Belt Express submitted a request to amend its Kansas Certificate of Convenience and Necessity, seeking increased power delivery to match growing demand and to deliver local benefits sooner through a proposed phasing of the project.

In June 2023, the KCC granted Grain Belt Express an Order to amend its Certificate of Convenience and Necessity. Read the Order here.
